Frequently asked questions

What is cold water swimming?

Cold water swimming involves immersing in cold water to boost circulation and mental clarity, guided by our experts.

How do I join your group

Come along for a swim to see if you like it - if you do, join our verein to be part of the group

What should I bring to swim?

Bring your normal swimwear plus a couple of towels.  In winter it is useful to bring something to stand on when you get changed.  Bring something warm to change into - we mainly use dryrobes but you can also use anything that is warm and easy to put on.  A hot drink or hot water bottle also helps

How long do you swim?

We normally stay in the water for 1 minute for each degree of water temperature.

Can I just swim alone?

It is dangerous to swim alone in cold water. One of the reasons we formed our group was so we had people to swim with. Plus it's much more fun to swim with friends.
